Whew, a whirlwind week last week dove right into a girl’s weekend away, and then rush to play catch up at work on Monday, dinner with yet another dear friend and then end the day giving some much-deserved attention to my back-from-traveling beau. What a week!
Although I love spending time with the people in my life, I’ve really come to crave my time alone where I rejuvenate, recharge and center myself. I’m feeling particularly off kilter these days as my busy schedule has kicked my yoga/meditation to the back burner – but no more! As of this eve, it’s back to the front burner with renewed inter
est and vigor!
My latest audiobook download is Light on Life by B.K.S. Iyengar. His discussions on the power of yoga – how it opens the body, relaxes the nervous system and thereby centers the brain creating focus, peace, and happiness – has really made me crave my purple rubber runway. His definitions, so eloquently put are what I simply call…the yoga buzz. So tonight, I’ll carve out no less than 2 hours of me on-the-mat time including a solid 30 mins of guided meditation (my brain is far too busy to leave this to my own devices).
I also made a point this week of setting an intention for “finishing things”. So much is still left undone at work (23 days left and counting!). I’ve also got to finish planning month two of my sojourn which will most defiantly include Nepal now.
To finish the unfinished, to plan the unplanned, and to pay undivided attention to myself and my sweetie are my priorities this week….if I manage anything else, it’s a miracle.
