So great to have you here! I’m Caren, and I’m the creator of The Fit Habit. I’ve been teaching fitness & wellness since oh… 2008? It started with an adventure to India to do a teacher training and snowballed from there. My purpose is simple – to share easy, simple steps to wellness + weight loss through simple nutrition, uncomplicated fitness and mindset work (<-honestly, this is the biggest step in seeing results).

Simple Low Carb Recipes (mostly plant-based, but not always)
My motto is simple to make or forget it. Are you with me? All my recipes are carb-conscious, sugar-free and mostly plant-based, too. So if weight loss or increased energy is your goal, there’s nothing on this website that’s off limits.
Fitness + Yoga that’s under 30 mins
Oh girlfriend, I hate gyms. Don’t you? One thing I’m obsessed with are home workouts. They’re simple, fast and no one needs to see how crazy I look when I roll out of bed in the morning. Yes, I am a fitness instructor, but no – I don’t teach at a gym (right now). Life is just a little too crazy at the moment, so I prefer fitness programs I can do from home. I love yoga, PiYo and Barre, but sometimes I like to lift weights or go for a run. I do it all in a small corner of my bedroom (except the running of course).
I’m all about fitness that feels good and I don’t buy the whole “no pain, no gain” philosophy.
Mindset & habits, baby!
Beyond food and fitness, I also talk about mindset and habits. That’s what’s helped me go from a 200lb couch potato in my early 20’s to a fitness coach in my 40’s. A health journey has to start between your ears, don’t you think?
But how do I actually help?
I work with clients remotely, mostly in small groups. I find group dynamics to be more motivational and supportive and workouts that can be done anywhere seems to get the best results. My clients are women, mostly over 40 and they’re always over-scheduled and over-committed. I help by coaching them to prioritize their health habits, keep them accountable and provide the nutrition and exersize formats to get them there.
