There are few things in life that excite me more than peanut butter, right now.
I’m coming into “peak week” as today is 7 days out from my fitness competition and fats and carbohydrates are scarce. This makes me unbearably cranky and short-tempered and I have the attention span of a nit. So I would pretty much take a tablespoon of peanut butter over a beach in Cabo right now.
BTW, you’re probably wondering why I’m torturing myself like this, and well, rest assured, I am too. That said, I took my LAST set of progress pictures for my coach this morning and I was pretty darn happy with where things stood.
But a small miracle occurred in the peanut butter aisle of Whole Foods in Brentwood this week that changed my calorie-deficient life. It made me stop and look around to see if God was standing behind me with a big “this one’s for you girl” smile on his face (he wasn’t, btw).
For there on the shelf sat a small jar of mercy. Powered organic peanut butter with 45 calories and 1.5 grams of fat per serving. Heck, it even has 4 grams of protein and a measly 2 grams of sugar.
This powder is now my wonder drug of choice. I heart this stuff by the mega pound.
I put it on my apples, it goes into my oatmeal, I’m adding it to my smoothies and I’ve even made protein pancakes with it (although that’s not the greatest combo).
I want to marry it, but we’ve only known each other a few short days.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the fine people at this little peanut butter company. It really is just great stuff.
