Yoga that Will Make You Flow, Sweat, Then Chill

There’s something so gratifying about a quick and dirty yoga session that’s both sweaty and chill-inducing.

This class is great if you just want a good workout without being forced to get into anything too pretzel-like. There’s a whole lot of vinyasas but nothing too technical. Best part? It’s all done in 29 minutes, so there’s no time to get bored (love that).

If you’re pressed for time or feeling crumpled up after a long day at work, this will iron out the kinks, and it’s a perfect evening flow as there’s no back bending. Why is that a good thing? Backbends are energy inducing. They’re the equivalent of drinking a couple of espresso shots without the jitters. You’ll just have a hard time getting to sleep (horrors!), so perfect in the morning, but best avoided after 6 pm.

    The Benefits of Vinyasa Flow

I find it so fascinating that even at my worst when I'm feeling like a ball of total stress, that I can completely transform the way I feel in less than an hour.  The power of yoga for not only bringing me into the present moment but making my body buzz with aliveness is pretty incredible.  These days a lot of us are turning to pills to help us stay centered and in control of our emotions, but I wonder how many people could ditch the antidepressants if they could just create a regular yoga practice.

So I decided to see what Mr, Google thought about that question.  Here's what I found out...

    Yoga Does Help With Depression

According to a study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 30 participants of various ages saw a 50% decrease in their depressive symptoms by taking up a regular yoga practice.  What's more, most of their yoga was done at home, with 30 minute online classes.  That's pretty powerful stuff.

Now, I'm not suggesting that yoga is the cure for all that ails our species, but I think there's something to be said for creating a simple practice in your home with just a mat and a willingness to keep showing up.

What do you think? Does yoga help you manage negative emotion?

Want a yoga class that will swoop in and save you when absolutely nothing goes right?  Try this online class.  I love it.

Thanks for sharing. I could use a little Vinyasa without the pretzels right now. Your timing is impeccable.

    Hi, I'm Caren

I'm an ADHD coach & wellness expert with a mind that runs faster than a quick-dry nail polish. I have figured out how to master my ADHD brain through fitness, healthy eating and self-care and I get a thrill out of helping other women like me, do the same. You may or may not have ADHD, but somewhere after 40, most of us end up wondering why our jeans are tight and our brains are foggier than summer in San Francisco. If that's you, I'm here to help. Welcome!
