I'm a huge fan of Autumn Calabrese's 21 Day Fix programs, so when I heard about the 21 Day Fix Superblock, I was excited to learn more. This is different from the original series, so in this post, I'll walk you through what a "superblock" is, and how you can get involved.
First, What the Heck is a "Bodi SuperBlock"?
Not long ago, Beachbody rebranded to "BODi" which stands for Beachbody on Demand Interactive. This coincided with the company's shift to a more inclusive culture that doesn't imply "having the perfect Beachbody". It also refers to their format shift to both pre-recorded and now live workouts.
So going forward, every month BODi will release a new SuperBlock and I'm freaking stoked to try them.

So these will all be recreated with new moves, updated popular music, but the same amazing super trainers that we all know and love.
The other unique aspect of BODi Superblocks is the focus on periodization. This is a fancy industry term for going hard for a few weeks and then taking a recovery week before starting all over again. As a personal trainer, I can attest to the effectiveness of using this approach to training in order to get the best results.
What is the 21 Day Fix Superblock?
The 21 Day Fix Superblock is a remade version of the 21 Day Fix program using the proven block periodization structure. This program features new moves and popular music, making it an entirely new experience. This Superblock features 5 workouts a week for 3 weeks, followed by an "UP Week" to reset and recover.
What Kind of Workouts Can I Expect?
Expect to get the same head-to-toe workouts in this Superblock. The program includes two days of cardio-focused workouts and three days of strength-focused training. There is also an optional 5-minute Ab Fix workout that you can do twice a week for an added burn, plus three bonus Cycle Fix workouts you can swap in on cardio days or whenever you want an extra workout.
How is the 21 Day Fix SuperBlock different?
The original 21 Day Fix workout is 4 weeks long, 7 days per week, for 4 weeks. Once you finished the first week, you went back and followed the same workouts again each week, so there was no progression.
The 21 Day Fix Super Block program is also a 4-week program, but it's designed to help you see continual progress, gain strength, and build confidence in your movement by making the workouts progressively more challenging.
By the time you get to the 4th week, (it's called the UP Week, which stands for Unconditional Progress), you start to dial back the intensity, to give your body a break, and also integrate all the progress you've made in strength and endurance.
Also, the other key difference is that now all the workouts are recorded to current popular music which just makes the whole experience more fun.
What Kind of Equipment Do I Need?
Same as the original version, you'll need light, medium, and heavy dumbbells. A mat is optional.
How Do I Know if the 21 Day Fix Superblock is Right for Me?
If you've worked out with Autumn before, you know that she's going to push you - no matter what your fitness level is. She never fails to bring interesting and new combos of resistance training and cardio, mixed with a lot of tough love encouragement. So whether you're just starting out or you've worked out for years, you will be challenged.
If you're new to working out in general, rest assured that she always has a modifier who shows how to make moves a little easier, so no matter your fitness level you you won't feel lost or discouraged.
How Does the Portion fix Fit Into This Superblock?
Autumn's Portion Fix eating plan hasn't gone anywhere. In fact, it's even better in BODi. There's tons of video instruction on how she breaks down the color coded food catagories and I'm always impressed with the amazing recipes you can create with little effort. Oh, and shakeology can literally be baked or mixed into the best guilt-free desserts.
When Can I Access the 21 Day Fix Superblock?
The 21 Day Fix Superblock launches on April 3, exclusively on BODi, so you do have to have a BODI membership. My Final Thoughts
I'm pumped for this new version of the 21 Day Fix in Superblock format. I've never seen results as I've seen with 21 Day Fix Extreme, so I'm sure this new format won't disappoint.
