    7 Vanilla Shakeology Recipes You Haven't Tried Yet

    These vanilla Shakeology recipes go far beyond the traditional "half-a-banana-and-blend". Read on to turn your nutritional supplement into a rich, smoothie treat or a baked dessert! PS - they can all be made with vanilla protein powder, too!

    Vanilla Shakeology Recipes | Gluten Free and no sugar added, you will love these smoothies and baked treats

    A lot of my clients and readers use Shakeology as a daily supplement to optimize their nutrition. Unlike straight up protein powder, it offers a host of superfoods that can help to curb cravings and keep you fuller between meals. Depending on how you use it, it can also become a meal in itself.

    In this post I’ll cover some of my favorite traditional smoothie recipes, but also include some ideas for baking Shakeology into a healthy treat you can enjoy as a dessert!

    What can you mix with Shakeology?

    Pretty much anything!  Below are just a few ways I love to dress up a basic Shakeology smoothie.  These are all super simple and can be made with the vegan or whey-based product.

    Do you need a blender for these recipes?  

    Yes, you do.  If you want to drink Shakeology with just water or milk you can do that without a blender, but the recipes below require blending.

    Pumpkin Pie Shakeology Recipe

    • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    • 1 sachet of stevia
    • 1/2 tbsp pumpkin pie spice mix (or more if desired)
    • 1/2 cup  canned pumpkin puree
    • 1/2 cup ice
    • 1 serving vanilla Shakeology (or protein powder)

    Vanilla Mocha Shakeology Recipe

    • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    • 2 sachet stevia
    • 1/2 cup brewed coffee (cooled to room temp or colder)
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
    • 1/2 cup ice
    • 1 serving vanilla Shakeology (or protein powder)

    Snicker-doodle Vanilla Shakeology Recipe

    • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    • 1 sachet stevia
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup ice
    • 1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology (or protein powder)

    Vanilla Nog Shakeology Recipe  - a Seasonal Favorite!

     

    Vanilla Shakeology Smoothie Bowl Recipe

    To add extra protein and creaminess to any of the recipes above, I recommend adding a single serving container of Fage 0% plain Greek yogurt. This not only increases the protein by 19 grams with less than 100 additional calories, it also turns your smoothie shake into a smoothie bowl!

    Feel free to season your smoothie bowl anyway you like! I’m a fan of the following healthy toppings:

    • Crushed nuts
    • Lily’s No Added Sugar chocolate chips
    • Chia seeds
    • Fresh Raspberries or blueberries
    • Sliced strawberries
    • Sliced banana
    • Unsweetened coconut
    • Sunflower seeds

    More Creative ways to enjoy Vanilla Shakeology

    The following recipes all call for vanilla protein powder, however they can all be swapped out with 1 serving of Vanilla Shakeology instead (vegan or whey-based).

    Is Vanilla Shakeology Low Carb?

    I think so, but that depends on what you deem to be low carb (opinions vary).  At 9 net grams of carbs per serving (for the vanilla), I enjoy it as a part of a low carb, fat adapted diet.  

     

    Is Vanilla Shakeology Keto?

    No.  I don't think it's suitable for a keto diet, but again - opinions vary.

     

    What's the Benefit of Drinking Shakeology?

    Great question.  While I don’t think any supplement is critical for a healthy diet, I love Shakeology because it has a blend of phyto-nutrients, antioxidants, enzymes, prebiotics and probiotics, fiber, adaptogens, vitamins, and minerals in it.  To me, that equals more energy, fewer cravings and well, more regularity (if you catch my drift).  
     
    The thing about low carb eating is that you can miss out on some critical nutrients unless you’re very careful about eating tons of non-starchy veggies like kale, broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts.  If you’re eating at least 6 servings of that a day, great!  Stick to Whole Foods.  If you’re not eating like that, Shakeology can help.
