Pumpkin Spice Shakeology is back! I'm SO excited for this time of year, because Beachbody releases this flavor for a limited time, and trust me... you won't want to miss it. But if you do, no worries! I'm sharing two ways to make your own pumpkin spice shakeology (or any protein shake) below.
What is pumpkin Shakeology?
If you've never heard of Shakeology, the best way to describe it is superfood nutrition in the form of a smoothie. It's made with plant-based protein, but it's so much more than that. In fact, the best way to describe it is to share the nutritional label with you.
As you can see - it has a lot of beneficial ingredients that can help improve your diet and curb cravings without a lot of fuss or effort. Is it better than real food? Nope - I always advocate real food over supplements, but when you don't have time to prepare 7 servings of fresh veggies - this is a great alternative. Plus, it tastes really damn good.
Is it Vegan?
Yes! It's 100% plant-based, so it's fantastic for complimenting a vegan diet as it has so many macro and micronutrients, but it's also perfect for folks who are intolerant to dairy or anyone who just wants a boost of good nutrition.
How much is Pumpkin Spice Shakeology?
Ah, good question. Pumpkin spice shakeology is a limited edition product that comes in a smaller box than the regular shakeology products, which makes it a little more affordable. It's also a lot cheaper when you order it as a coach (we get 25% off) and I believe it's 20% off right now until they run out. I'll be the first to tell you that it's not a cheap product, but it's less expensive to buy the blend than trying to purchase even a fraction of these ingredients independently.

But is Shakeology worth it?
Honestly, I think you have to consider what your goals are before buying the product. Will it help you lose weight? Probably. Research shows that it can be an effective way to lose weight (even over a regular food diet) but there has to be long-term behavior change that goes along with it or it won't last. It's not a magic pill.
Will it help you clean up your diet, reduce cravings, give you more energy and do so in a way that's a lot easier than cooking a bunch of vegetables? Yes. But, real food is always best. From a cost perspective, if you have no issue buying a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks, then you're not going to feel any financial difference if you shift that money into a daily nutrition shake. You will however, feel a lot better.
Is Pumpkin Spice Shakeology Sold out?
Much like Peppermint Mocha Shakeology, Pumpkin Spice is a limited edition flavor only available during the holidays. So depending on when you're reading this, it might be sold out. But fear not - I'm offering you two ways to make your own pumpkin spice recipe below. It's super simple to make using vanilla shakeology (or you could use a protein powder, but the nutrients will but be as robust).
Pumpkin Spice Shakeology Recipes - Two ways
In the recipes below, I'm sharing two ways to make Pumpkin Spice Shakeology smoothies using the vanilla flavor, since the pumpkin spice is only a limited time offer. I like mine to be really simple, low in carbs and high in sweet flavor, so I don't use canned pumpkin, but the video you'll see below does use it. Personally, I'm a fan of the vanilla Shakeology because it's so versatile and you can make so many recipes with it.

One serving of pumpkin shakeology (based on the recipe below) is 1 red.
- 1 cup ice
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology (or Pumpkin Spice flavor)
- 1 tbsp Pumpkin Spice mix
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 sachet stevia if you like it a little sweeter (as I do)
- combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- pour into a glass
- sprinkle extra pumpkin spice mix on top and serve
Canned pumpkin is optional here as the pumpkin spice will go a long way to making your shake taste like the real thing, but it helps!
