Have y'all tried XB Pilates on BODI yet? Welp, if you haven't - be prepared for a glowing review. I freaking love this program.
Now, ya’ll know that I’m a barre, Pilates and yoga fan, so this review is going to be a tad bias, but it really is a solid program. Wait till you meet Andrea Rogers. She’s a tiny powerhouse - strong, lean and totally inspiring. I love her teaching style and her choreography.
Okay, let’s dive into this review, starting with a brief intro from Andrea....
What is XB Pilates All About?
XB Pilates is a sister workout to the Extend Barre program (hense, the XB in the title). This is a signature workout, designed by Andrea Rogers and it’s intended to deliver long, lean muscles and strong AF core strength.
Let me tell you something - I used to hate doing core work until I started barre and Pilates. I remember reaching down to pick something up at Target one day and I could feel my abs ripple. From that day on, I was HOOKED.
What’s Included in XB Pilates?
- There are 21 total workouts in this program, designed to be done 5 days per week.
- Each workout is about 30 mins long (short and sweet - just the way I like them.
- The workouts are designed for an intermediate level, but there's always a modification provided if you're new to working out.
XB Pilates workouts are centered around 4 themes -
- Core, glutes and legs
- Cardio fused with barre moves
- Abs & booty (personal fav)
- Full body sculpt - classes that tackle the full body in one session.
The best part about this program is that once you’re done, you can move right into Andrea’s other programs Xtend Barre and XB Sweat + Sculpt because they are all on BODI (formerly called, Beachbody on Demand).
What style of training is XB Pilates?
Beachbody’s XB Pilates is based on the classical Pilates method, first created by Joseph Hubertus Pilates in the late 1880s. But Andrea Rogers who created XB Pilates has added her twist to the workouts to make them more engaging, fun and fat burning (thanks to the cardio fusion element).
In addition to building sculpted lean muscles and burning fat, XB Pilates is also going to help with mobility, alignment, core strength and POSTURE! OMG, I’ve found that I am always slouching and this workout has helped me be more aware of how I’m holding myself.
What equipment do you need?
A little, but not much. I love that these workouts are so minimalist. You’ll need a light pair of weights (3lbs is best), a workout band, a yoga mat, sliders and if you’re really looking to amp up results - try some Bala Bands! I’m obsessed with these.
What about Nutrition Support?
When you sign up for Beachbody’s XB Pilaties, you also get the option to try the protein superfood bundle, which I HIGHLY recommend as it’s priced well for first time buyers. You not only get the protein-superfoods, but you also get the support and structure of either 2B Mindset or Portion Fix. These are Beachbody’s signature nutrition programs, and you get access to BOTH to try. I recommend 2B Mindset, personally, because it’s MUCH easier to follow, but that’s just me.
Want to See Some XB Pilates Before and Afters?
Of course you do! As always, remember - these results are never just from doing the workouts alone. Dialing in your nutrition is a must or you will not see this level of success. And when I say that, it doesn’t mean you have to starve or count calories. The 2B Mindset program is really simple to follow and I got great results from it.
Where to Buy Beachbody’s XB Pilates?
XB Pilates is on the BODI platform along with the other XB workout programs I mentioned above. Once you purchase access to BODI, you get access to all of the programs! Don't forget to try the nutrition bundles as they are well priced for new customers. I personally recommend the vegan chocolate shakeology bundle because it's the best value and (and taste).
Also, keep in mind, there’s a 30 day guarantee on all of this, so even if you buy it and decide it’s not for you, you can return it.
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed though. I’ve been doing Beachbody workouts since 2012 and at 52, I still call it my fitness secret weapon (because I hate going to a gym!).
