I’ve curated all my favorite Beachbody hybrid workouts in this post for those of you who (like me) love doing Beachbody on Demand workouts, but need more diversity in your day-to-day schedule rather than following a single program from start to finish. (PS, if you're not using Beachbody on Demand yet - you can snag a membership right here).
If you are the type of person that loves to do one program at a time, that’s awesome! Stick with it. But if you get bored of the same instructor or style of movement day after day, then you’re going to love these hybrid workouts.
Barre Blend & Lift 4 Hybrid Workout
Both of these programs are so much fun! I love Barre Blend because it’s graceful and fun. Even the more advanced, 40-minute workouts go by so fast for me because Elise Joan is a master at engaging choreography.
But just because it’s fun and graceful, don’t for one minute think you won’t get killer results from this style of workout. My butt has firmed up so much from “the pretzel” move that I’ve perfected over the course of this 8-week program.
I especially loved how I felt after these workouts because they’re not high-impact, but they helped me become more conscious of my posture and alignment. I now stand taller (and look slimmer).
LIFT4 is another Beachbody favorite of mine. Joel Freeman is an incredible instructor and his training routines are creative and challenging. Again, these workouts go by super fast because you’re so engage in the choreography and keeping up with the movements. This is also a great standalone program for anyone who doesn’t have time to workout every day. It only 4 days per week, so it’s absolutely doable for anyone who has a tight schedule.
So what happens when you bring Barre Blend and Lift 4 together? You get the perfect hybrid of lifting, toning, stretching and cardio intervals. Want sculpted legs, shapely arms and a toned core? Look no further than the Barre Blend and Lift 4 Hybrid.
Barre Blend & 4 Weeks of the Prep
This hybrid is a little more intense than the one above as it is suggesting that you do both workouts in completion. It’s at least an hour of work per day, so it’s not for the faint of heart. However, if you have the time and the dedication, you’re going to see a faster fat burn and a more toned physique in less time.
I wouldn’t say that the moves are harder than the Lift 4 program, but there is definitely a higher volume of work. More work often leads to faster results (but not always, so be careful not to overtrain).
6 Weeks of the Work & Lift4 Hybrid
6 Weeks of the Work is an exceptionally challenging program, and definitely not the one you want to start with if you’re a newbie to fitness. If there was ever a doubt that home workouts could be as effective as gym workouts, then you only need to try this program to confirm that it’s 100% true. Holy smokes, it’s hard, but it will make you STRONG AF and feel like a badass.
As I’ve already mentioned, Lift 4 is a great program for blending weight lifting and HIIT workouts. When you combine that with the power of 6 Weeks of the Work, you have a really cool blend of hard and not-so-hard.
PiYo & P90X3 Hybrid Workout
Okay, if you only have 30 minutes a day, and you want an intermediate intensity workout, then consider this hybrid workout of PiYo and P90X3. PiYo is a yoga and pilates fusion workout that requires no equipment. It’s functional training, so a lot of body weight movements and much like barre, it doesn’t leave you feeling completely wasted when you’re done.
P90X3 is the 3rd program of all Tony Horton’s P90 workouts. I love it because it packs a lot of workout into little time. Only 30 minutes each and you’ll feel like you’ve put in a good sweat in that short time. It’s concise, efficient and of course, you’ll still get those fat burning results.
What I like about this hybrid is that it’s only one workout today, so it’s ideal if you don’t have time (or desire) two do two workouts in one session.
PiYo & Focus T25 Hybrid Workout
I’ve already covered PiYo, so I’ll go straight into the beauty of Focus T25. Each workout is only 25 minutes long (hence the name), but it’s constant movement. I love these workouts because ShaunT is the best fitness instructor. He’s so upbeat, creative and FUN. Give this one a whirl if you’re looking for a cardio-forward program designed to burn fat while building flexibility and strength, too.
Body Beast and 21 Day Fix Extreme Hybrid Workout
This is a fun blend, mostly because the personalities are different. Autumn Calabrese is a no-nonsense trainer that will push you with her workouts. Sagi is, well… I don’t have the words for this guy, but he’s very strong and clearly knows what he’s talking about. If pure weight lifting is your favorite thing to do, try this.
Lift4 and 10 Rounds Hybrid Workout
Okay, I’ve already talked about Lift 4, but have you tried the kickboxing program created by the same trainer? Joel Freeman launched 10 Rounds last year and it was an instant hit. The workout is a combo of cardio intervals, kickboxing and strength training. If you love to kickbox, I think you’re going to enjoy the program. If you’re a big fan of Joel Freeman, than you’re going to get double the pleasure out of this workout.
Beachbody on Demand Hybrid Workout
This is a fun mashup program that dabbles in a variety of Beacchbody on Demand Workouts. I’d recommend following this if you’re feeling a little stagnant in your current program, or you’re just open to trying something completely different. You never knwo what you’ll fall in love with!
I like mash ups like this because it exposes you to some of the older programs on the platform that are amazing! Just because something has been around for 10 years, doesn’t mean it’s any less awesome than something that launched last week. Turbo Jam is one of my favorite workouts and it’s also one of the earliest that Beachbody launched.
