I LOVE these High Protein Cookies!!
These protein cookies are a dream come true for comfort food seekers that still want weight loss results. They’re clean, no sugar, no funky stuff, high protein, and yet just sweet enough to feel like you’re eating something devilish.
I’m in Sedona this week with the family. A last minute road trip to the Grand Canyon since
- A) I’ve never seen it before, and
- B) in about 2 weeks it will be too stinking hot to exist here, so we thought this was the perfect timing.
What does this have to do with my cookies? Not much, other than the fact that they are great for road trips.
Are oats gluten free?
Yes, there is no gluten in oats, but here's the thing - cross-contamination is a risk factor. Many of the manufacturing facilities that process oats are not strictly gluten free, so if they processed a gluten-based flour right before the oats, there's a high chance there will be gluten contamination. If this is something you're concerned about, stick with a manufacturer that has a gluten-free facility, like Bob's Red Mill.
Is this protein cookie recipe low carb?
Not really. Oats and bananas are both healthy choices, but they have a lot of naturally occuring sugars. If you're looking for a lower carb cookie option, try these. They're perfect for sandwiching low calorie ice cream π
Can I use real sugar instead of Stevia?
Sure you can! These are your cookies afterall π . Just be sure to account for the ingredient change in the overall nutritional info. If you don't want to use stevia because you think it leaves an aftertaste, try Swerve. I've been working with that product for a little while now and I really like it. It has zero aftertaste and no calories or carbs!

Man, your weather travels have been awful. I hope this trip is much better and you aren't forced to don a pug hoodie, although it does make you look rather tough.
